Celebrating Dr Roisin Campbell-Palmer, Beaver Trust’s Head of Restoration, who was recognised at the prestigious International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) 2024 Animal Action Awards for her 15 years of leadership in restoring beavers to Britain.
The 24th annual ceremony, held on 17 October 2024 at London’s BAFTA headquarters, recognised three individuals who have made considerable contributions to animal conservation across the country.
Roisin’s involvement and broad expertise has included night-time beaver trapping by boat in Norway, bringing the first beavers to the Scottish Beaver Trial, overseeing recent releases in the Cairngorms National Park, but also consistent dedication to research, project management, conflict resolution and beaver welfare.
Her work has undoubtedly been pivotal in the species’ return.
